Ski resort

It's winter, and it's very cold and snowy outside. But Tara doesn't mind, do you Tara? That's because Tara is going away for the weekend to her favourite mountain resort.

A resort is a place where you can go to relax and have fun. This resort has many different kinds of winter sports to try, and Tara wants to try as many kinds as she can. First of all, she has to get very warmly dressed, with a thick winter jacket and gloves to keep out the cold.

Here's Tara on the ski lift on her way to the top of the mountain. Give us a wave, Tara! Tara is skiing down the hill. She's going very carefully, because she is not wearing a helmet. Really! You need a helmet to be safe on the ski slopes Tara. Now slow down immediately.

Maybe you should try to do some touring instead. Touring is when you do not ski downhill, but explore the countryside on skis. It is hard work, but the view can be very beautiful. You must be careful to make sure that someone knows where you are going and how long you will be gone. Even though winter sports are great fun, you should always take care so that doing winter sports is not dangerous.

Tara also likes snowboarding and wants to do it more often. She has her own snowboard and last year she went snowboarding a lot. Snowboarding is very different from skiing, but it's still a lot of fun.

For the afternoon, Tara is going to do something different. The resort also has an ice rink. What do you do on an ice rink? You skate on an ice rink. Here's Tara now with her ice skates on. She likes to skate, though it took a lot of practice before she could skate across the ice without falling. But look at her now - she's really good!

Tara sometimes likes to play ice hockey with her friends. But she prefers to watch it on the television because she is an ice hockey fan and gets really excited when her team is winning. Another winter sport that Tara has never tried is ski jumping. Imagine flying all that way through the air! It must be very exciting, but it's another sport that Tara prefers just to watch on the television.

But what is the best part of doing winter sports? It's the apres ski. That's the part that comes in the evening after a hard day of exercise. It's when Tara sits in a comfortable chair in front of a big fire and has something to drink. Have a good evening Tara!
